Evolution of cluster galaxies with a VIMOS-IFU survey and multi-band imaging

Objective

We aim at comining the information from a unique large f.o.v. integral field survey of intermediate redshift clusters of galaxies with multi-band imaging data in order to obtain valuable insights into the physical processes which determine the formation an d evolution of the cluster galaxay poupaltion,We will survey the central regions in 10 galaxy cluster, both at low and high spectral resolution, and will combine these valuable dataset with HST and VLT imaging. We will determine the spectral and morpholoci al properties of a large sample of galaxies from z=0.2 clusters. We will make the whole reduced VIMOS-IFU dataset available at the international community at the end of the present project.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

This project has not yet been classified with EuroSciVoc.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
