Objective This project proposal is aimed to support and strengthen the different existing collaboration actions between Europe and Mediterranean Partner Countries (MCP) for research and research training in the field of Water reuse through the staff exchange opportunities offered by IRSES. The structuring action of the programme consists in co-advising PhD students between the two sides of the Mediterranean Sea.A number of researchers and practitioners from Italy, Germany, France and Austria would bring their experience and vision to MCP and face local challenges, while MPC researchers and managers would mainly visit problems and projects sites in EU to see with their eyes the rationale and benefits of Water reuse technologies. Joint research activity to face selected case studies, site visits, workshops, sharing of publication and information and the set-up of a joint web site are the main foreseen activities. The overall objective of the WATE-REUSE-MED Project is to strengthen research cooperation and training in Mediterranean Countries and Europe within the water related sciences. This will be done by setting up a collaborative exchange programme for experienced and early stage-researchers with mutual benefits for all Participants. More specifically, the project is aimed to support visits researchers from Jordan, Tunisia, Egypt and Lebanon, to European Institutions and from European countries to the Mediterranean Research Centre, with short exchanges (1-2 months) for senior and longer exchanges (2-12 months) for junior investigators, for a total of about 1800 months. Scientific results thereby obtained will parallel advanced training and acquisition of new technologies in water reuse. The present project proposal is therefore aimed to add a high value to the whole activity by the co-advising sponsoring. Practically, the proposal aims at support: mutual visits of the advisors PhD stays Yearly workshops gathering members of the teams involved in a same thematic network.
