"Marie Curie Researchers Symposium „SCIENCE – Passion, Mission, Responsibility”"

Objective

"The aim of the project SCIENCE-PAMIR is to organise a 2-day symposium titled SCIENCE – Passion, Mission, Responsibility, for researchers participating in the Marie Curie Actions. The event organised during the Polish Presidency will take place on 26-27 September 2011, in Warsaw and will be an occasion to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Marie Curie Actions which also coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry awarded to Marie Sklodowska-Curie. The programme of the symposium includes three general sessions (PASSION: Scientific career, MISSION: Science and challenges, RESPONSIBILITY: Science for society), six thematic panels, contest on Innovative ways of promoting science, session with Nobel Prize winners, and an official opening of the Marie Curie Alumni Services. The number of participants will approximate 300 fellows. The abstracts submitted by researchers will be published in a booklet, the prize-winning works submitted to the contest will be broadly disseminated, the event and its results will be promoted through the Polish and international media. The Symposium will have a significant impact within the research sector, including the focus on research career development; it will also positively influence the reception of science in the society, underlining the role of science in the social and economic development."
