Objective
The project aims at increasing innovation and competitiveness in European industry by means of harmonising the activities of regional, national and international research initiatives. It will significantly contribute to creating enhanced circumstances for attracting increased regional investment into ICT sector RTD, and consequently more streamlined means for ICT innovations to reach full their market potential.
The project will involve regional innovation organisations, research and industry actors, many of which are from New Member States. Regional circumstances will be scrutinised and success rates of prior and existing regional RTD investment policies will be benchmarked. As the main deliverable, the project will create a set of guidelines for best-practice RTDI policy-making under diverse regional conditions.
During the project, public or publicly owned companies will join the forces with local, regional and national bodies and universities in shaping innovation policy. The consortium comprises expertise and knowledge contributed by a balanced combination of RTDI policy-makers and stakeholders that implement the policy.
Project activities will include systematic gathering, exchange and analysing of knowledge on a regional and national levels and elaborate d in selected cases in some of the regions, regarding the current structure of RTD investment into the ICT sector. Based on the benchmarked information and experiences set forth by consortium participants, the aforementioned set of RTDI guidelines will be composed.
