Final Report Summary - GAYMUSLIMEU (GAY AND MUSLIM IN EUROPE)


Executive Summary:

The GayMuslimEu project has achieved most of its research and training objectives. Minor changes have been introduced to include the preparation of 3 CNRS competitions in order to obtain a permanent position ( 36/03 CR2 Sociologie - Normes et règles ; 38/02 Sociétés et cultures: approches comparatives; 40/03 Politique, pouvoir, organisation), this was recalled in the previous report.

PROGRESS RESEARCH TRAINING ACTIVITIES/TOK/INTEGRATION

1. After espatblishing a list of contacts, a micro-survey has started in April 2013 (Milestone 4).
 Mainwhile I have successfully passed the CNRS competition (Recruitment campaign for 2013) in conformity with the annex “B5.2 Contribution to career development and re-establishment” specially relevant for the MC IEF Career Restart panel. I have been recruited in CNRS in 2014.

A second deliverable was submitted to Prof. BERLINER and exposed during a LAMC meeting. I carried on the organisation and animation of a LAMC seminar related to Anthropology of Food, giving me the opportunity in parallel to my training on sexuality and religion, to teach, organise, collaborate. - I was also involved in the seminar IDEMEC/IREMAM Genre et sexualité au prisme des religions dans l’espace méditerranéen. MMSH Aix en Provence.
- I have achieved in-depth one to one interview with 8 gay and 10 lesbian Muslims recruited by the intermediate of key informant and by snow ball sampling method.
- I have transcribed the interviews and analysis of the audio taped collected data
- I have written the first results, confirmed and new hypothesis.
- I have written a paper that has been submitted for a collective book under the co-direction of Katia Boissevain and myself.
