Final Report Summary - QSPINMOTION (Quantum coherence and manipulation of a single flying electron spin)

Controlling nanocircuit at the single electron is at the heart of the "QSPINMOTION" project. It requires to displace a single electron in a nanostructures completly isolated from the other electrons. During the course of the contract, we demonstrate three important milestones of the project : the long-range transfer of spin information using individual electrons, the quantum manipulation of two-electron spin states in isolated double quantum dot and the coherent displacement of individual electrons over 5 µm. All these developments put us in position to implement in quantum algorithms the coherent dispalcement in order to perform large scale quantum information processing. It will be particularly valuable in Si based quantum nanoprocessors.
