Final Report Summary - NAQUOP (Nanodevices for Quantum Optics)
In NaQuOp, hybrid quantum systems were designed, realized and demonstrated. Semiconducting quantum dots were used for the generation of single photon states. Superconducting nanostructures were developed to detect single photons with unprecedented efficiency and time resolution. Atomic vapors were used to store light at the single photon level. The combination of these three technologies offers important opportunities for quantum communication and information implementations.
