Objectif

To prepare effective simulation techniques to improve the safety and efficiency of maritime traffic at a reasonable cost,in particular by reducing the risks of collision and running aground.

CURRENT STATUS

At its 23 November 1989 meeting the Management Committee started work on the second phase (experiments with simulation techniques, training of pilots, etc.).

WORK PLANNED

- Completion of the programme's second phase in summer 1991.

- Certain parts of the project could be continued under the Community's EURET programme as part of the maritime traffic management system project.
