Objective
The project concentrates on the development of techniques for the analysis of time (and other parameters) dependent analysis of high volume biological data, e.g. micro-array experiments. The analysis thus obtained can be used to reconstruct models of various biological systems. The project ties in statistical analysis of time course data with the growing number of "ontological" annotations of genes and gene products.
In particular the project will target the Gene Ontology as a suitable substrate to produce descriptions of a biological system time dependent activity. As a secondary, yet very important goal, the project will provide a set of tools and techniques that can be used to confront and compare different ontologies by grounding them in the measured data of a number of wet-lab experiments.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
