Aerobiology to Poznan

Objective

AEROTOP will lead to the introduction of aerobiology at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. We plan to increase our knowledge about new methods for measuring concentrations of pollen and fungal spores indoor and outdoor; the influence of meteorological factors on variations in concentrations of pollen and fungal spores; methods underlying the construction of forecasting models of concentrations of pollen and fungal spores of allergenic taxa; and creation and management of data bases for monitoring results for local, regional and national needs. AEROTOP will create opportunities for cooperation between allergologists, botanists, microbiologists, phenologists, meteorologists, agricultural sciences, forestry, and researchers in tourism and other disciplines, from the University and neighboring institutions of higher education in Poznan. Working models established in AEROTOP will be transferred to other institutions of higher education in Poland. The organization of workshops for aerobiologists from other parts of Poland is planned during visits of specialists from collaborating European institutions. The international research cooperation undertaken as part of the project is expected to lead to joint presentations and publications.
