European training tools for e-Content start-ups and SMEs' expansion

Objective

The European market is characterised by low transparency and complexities leading to sub-optimal business plans and under-exploitation of capital for eContent ventures. The quality of European business plans needs to be improved, taking into account existing solutions to typical obstacles to a European-wide exploitation of eContent products and services such as language, culture and legal issues that hamper a pan-European approach.

eTTEC identified European Critical Investment Success Factors (ECISFs) by benchmarking 10 US and 20 EU success stories in the eContent sector. The ECISFs were translated into enhanced training modules by experts on multilingualism, localisation of content, international IP, European network development and entrepreneurial assessment.

eTTEC developed and demonstrated:
1. A new ECISF-based model for pan-European business plan development in the digital content industry;
2. Enhanced training courses on typical European issues;
3. An on-line Business Plan Wizard integrated with tutorials to help start-ups develop sound pan-European proposals for investors.
