Final Report Summary - RAMAN (Gold Nanoprisms as Raman Signal Amplifiers for Bioimaging of Lung Cancer)
The biocompatible gold nano particle were systematically synthesised in terms of different shape and dimensions and the resultant Surface Enhanced Raman signals (SERS) on small molecules and body fluids were optimised (Fig 1 and fig 2).
Strategically designed PEGylated nanoparticles were developed with the aim of investigating the feasibility of using gold nano particles as a novel enhancement agent for Raman imaging of Lung adenocarcinoma cells. Toxicity tests of different shaped gold nanoparticle were analysed to compare the biocompatibility (Fig.3).
