Objective
Improvement of quality of life, protection of environment and economical use of energy and raw materials are requirements of our times. Miniaturization, which is one of the answer to these needs, means moving from macro- to micro- and nano-dimensions and to finely dispersed systems. The aim of this proposal is to network high quality scientific centres in Poland, which are involved in research on surfactant and dispersed systems. The activities of the network will concentrate on the basic research as well as on development of new compounds and technologies, which will find practical application. The organization of the network will facilitate exchange of the personnel, information and dissemination of scientific results. It will contribute to optimisation of use of research infrastructure available to the members of the network. The exchange of PhD students and young scientists will be especially encouraged to enable to learn techniques, which are not available in their home institutions. Organization of the network will prevent fragmentation, overlap of the research topics and favour cooperation. One of the aims of the network is coordination of action taken to participate in the 6th FP. The network will be subdivided into several thematic groups. The representatives of the groups will meet every year to exchange the results and informs other members of the network about the progress. Every two years the large conference 'SURUZ' will be organized with participation of invited speakers from scientific institution in EU. '
