Objective
The HUNPOL-Trans project proposes a coherent action plan for increasing Hungarian and Polish participation in FP6 in the surface transport sector. The activities planned also contribute to the creation of ERA by facilitating the Hungarian and Polish research potential wider cooperation within FP6 initiatives as well as other ways of cooperation between other ACC as well as Member States and third countries. The plan of HUNPOL-Trans will also renew enthusiasm in science and research for the surface transport all over Europe. WP1 is concerned with the identification of science and research institutions with a different R&D component that can improve implementation of FP6 relating to the surface transport. This identification will cover broad spectrum of products and technologies as well as different offers as to have broader view as to the whole Hungarian and Polish potential in surface transport. These institutions are classified in a database (WP4) that can be used during various tasks of the project to either disseminate information such as calls for proposals launched by the Commission or a running project, the workshops and activities organized in the project (WP3) and assessed by the Expert Groups (WP6). WP 2 is about providing a service to projects in gestation and projects that are running. WP 5 relates to the identification of young research potential in surface transport. All activities will be coordinated according to WP7 being in charge for the high quality of deliverables of the whole project. The European R&D associations for the road (EUCAR), rail (UNIFE & ERRAC) and maritime (COREDES) sectors are associated to the project on the basis that they or their members are going to be invited to strategic activities of the project (like brokerage events) as well as will be informed about the deliverables of the project. The project will cooperate with the European network of NCPs mainly from MS to improve the capacities of researchers of ACC.
