Innovation Relay Centre Northern Germany

Objective

By introducing European added value into the regional and national innovation support system, the IRC will complete and enrich the existing service spectrum on the national and regional level, thus ensuring complementary services to the national and regional structures. The IRC Northern Germany will promote transnational technology activities and facilitate cross border co-operation, particularly of SMEs, by structured and individual assistance in accordance with the needs expressed by the industrial fabric of Northern Germany. As such, the Relay Centre will primarily concern itself with carrying out actions and delivering services in which transnational elements do predominate, e.g. inward and outward technology transfer actions, promotion to exploit European research results within the region, matching events as TT-days at cross border level involving all possible parties and the IRCs themselves from the network member countries. The success of the Network as a whole but also of the IRC Northern Germany in particular depends to a significant extend on the level of networking with other IRCs. Under the new contact, the IRC will particularly focus on this issue and reinforce drastically its engagement by using the Network as an integral part of its strategy and its operational work. During the last years, the 7 partners of the IRC Northern Germany has acquired a profound structural knowledge of transnational technology matters in the various technology sectors of the region. The good co-operation between all partners provide a widely perceived added value for each region. The organisations involved in this proposal will perform the IRC Northern Germany by using the infrastructures of their host organisations to a substantial degree.98 technology agreements are expected to be signed within the contract.
