Promotion and support of the transfer of scientific touring exhibitions at European level

Objective

Among the popular products that offer a reliable and attractive presentation of the scientific knowledge to audiences unfamiliar with science, the Scientific Touring Exhibitions (STEX) represent a rich potential to be valorised at European level. Four well-experienced scientific institutions and the European Network for Science Centres and Museum (ECSITE) will create and promote the system (an on-line database) needed to stimulate the international transfer of STEX between Natural History Museums, Science Centres and museums at large.

By promoting the best practices in transfer and raising membership to a system dedicated to professionals, e-CASTEX will set up in two years a system able to run on the long term thanks to the neutral organisation that is ECSITE. Hundreds of professionals are expected to get access to the European STEX production and consequently hire/rent more frequently these popular products.
