Objectif
We propose to develop a travelling exhibition on selected life science topics combined with a live science theatre performance. The exhibition takes the form of two family members travelling through Europe in a trailer. Inside the trailer, information on the life sciences and current research is presented on posters and various multimedia, integrated as much as possible into the trailer's standard furniture. More information is set up in a covered area outside the trailer. Leaflets on the variety of science topics addressed by the exhibition are available free of charge. Science on stage.
The trailer stops at different locations where two actors perform a short live theatre linking everyday events to life sciences. The performances are to appeal to a 'broad audience' no prior knowledge of the biosciences is necessary. The actors will interact with the audience, creating a relaxing atmosphere, and holding the audience's attention with funny, real-life anecdotes. The audience will be entertained, while receiving information on the biosciences. The performances will stimulate people to look for more information and visit the exhibition, talk to the actors and take the brochures. The engaging nature of the performance offers an ideal opportunity to attract people who would otherwise never take the initiative to learn more about science.
DNA-TEST will be present at events and summer festivals throughout Europe to reach out to members of the public who are totally unfamiliar with science and research. All age groups - including youngsters and senior citizens - are target audiences of the exhibition. Do-it-yourself travelling exhibition. To share and disseminate the results, DNA-TEST includes: the development of an 'exhibition kit' that is easy to integrate into a standard rented trailer, and a 'science theatre kit' in several languages. Both kits will be made available to interested parties at limited cost, enabling easy and wide distribution of the project results
