Tertiary heating systems using agro, forest and wood residues

Objective

The project is focused on the demonstration of two innovative and sustainable medium size (60 kW, 100 kW) European heating systems [combustion or co-combustion], for domestic and tertiary buildings, using as fuel medium-low quality wastes from agro/forest/wood production.

The main objective of the project is to demonstrate the overall performance for two European heating systems with Mediterranean biomass, able to diversify the raw material (energy supply), reduce agro/forest/wood wastes problems and promote the use of renewable thermal energy in European countries. Each heating system is based on a sustainable and replicable approach. Raw material selected is a broad list and mix of fuels, which will allow using the most economical fuel of the market, and in addition it will improve the availability, security on supply, and opportunities to demonstrate that heating by means of biomass is possible.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
