Challenge and illuminate regional creators and unfold societal strength

Objective

The objectives of this project are to examine and identify the driving factors behind innovation, to involve and exploit all potential stakeholders in society and to leverage good practice and new measures into national and regional innovation policies. The activities include identification of all potential innovators in society from schoolchildren to advanced research laboratory and from the curious human to front runners among innovative enterprises.

All levels of innovators will be brought together and public-private innovation partner-ships will be promoted. The aim is to facilitate exploration of experiences and attitudes towards creativity, promote new constellations of collaboration and enhance inventiveness within and across business sectors, scientific fields, education, public sectors and virtual communities. With this holistic approach the project will identify potentials and cutting edge innovations in each region aiming at improving the innovation culture in Europe.

The expected results of t he project include an outline of national and regional innovation initiatives pointing out perspectives for new innovation measurements and policies. Based on empirical material and synthesised knowledge gathered in the project new joint public-private initiatives and policies to improve and enhance the creative environments in Europe will be defined. The project will result in a written concept for identifying the driving factors behind innovation. It will be made public together with a new web-page.

Thus the results and new tools for enhancing innovation will be publicly disseminated and made exploitable for all regions of Europe. The project will via its holistic approach and new methods contribute to integrating and structuring the European Research Area by challenging the European society into changing habits, and by providing new tools to exploit Europe's full potentials to innovate and compete in a global knowledge society.
