Efficient continues-wave second harmonic generation (SHG) at telecommunication waveguides in AlGaAs nanostructures - optical frequency converters in AlGaAs/GaAs in deeply etched sub-micron ridge waveguides (nanowires) - tuneable type II modal phase matched SHG, - integrated devices for SHG - compact on-single-chip SHG - hybrid AlGaAs/silica platform for SHG - nanostructures for coherent light sources - catastrophic light self-focusing in bulk Kerr medium - arrest of the nonlinear collapse in bulk Kerr medium by introducing magnetically-induced optical birefringences - all-optical (first- and high-order) differentiators in Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) phase-shifted Bragg gratings - nonlinear notch frequency (blue-)shift in the side-wall etched AlGaAs Bragg grating (ridge) waveguides - highly tuneable photonic liquid crystal fibres (PLCFs) for linear and nonlinear applications - CBN (calcium barium niobate) ridge and triangular waveguides (on silicon substrate) for electro-optic applications.
