Innovation and creativity e-services for problem solving using TRIZ methodologies based on public information

Objective

The INNOVATRIX project aimed to provide broader access to public industrial property data thus serving the innovation needs and creativity processes of SMEs. In this context, INNOVATRIX examined the validity of a concept regarding the use of innovation methodologies, which - based on the study of public industrial property data - provide SMEs with a set of high added-value content and services.

The INNOVATRIX project was based on the assumption that a decisive step towards providing wider access to public industrial property data as a tool for innovation and creativity processes consists in the definition and validation of tools and methodologies based on the TRIZ methodologies. The TRIZ methodologies can process data in order to generate content adapted to the specific innovation needs of SMEs.

TRIZ stands for "Theory of Inventive Problem Solving" (acronym in Russian: TRIZ = Teoriya Resheniya Izobreatatelskikh Zadatch). Founded in 1946 by the Russian engineer and scientist Genrich Altshuller, TRIZ is an algorithmic approach for solving technical and technological problems. TRIZ methodology can be integrated with other quality processes.
