Conservation Marketing as a tool for the sustainable preservation of the Maltese cultural heritage

Objective

One of the essential requirements for the effective heritage preservation is ensuring its sustainability. Achieving the latter depends to a large extent on a close interdisciplinary collaboration of professionals from different fields (conservators, architects, arts historians, lawyers, managers, economists et al.) This research project aims at supplementing the range of the fields' auxiliary to heritage preservation by the marketing science. In particular it aims at identifying marketing tools and mechanisms in the area of conservation and restoration of cultural heritage and, consequently, at developing a complex marketing concept for conservation services in order to enhance the sustainability of the Maltese national system for cultural heritage preservation.
