Development of competences in the area of European social policy and its implementation practices at the University of Tartu

Objective

Current project proposal is concentrated on the dynamics of the social policy in Europe with the specific focus on divergent experience in social and employment policy implementation practices. The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the comparative research in the field of social policy implementation in the context of post-communist Eastern Europe, specifically Estonia.

The overall objective of the project is to develop the competences of University of Tartu in the area of social policy theory, methodology, policy development and policy evaluation. Specifically, the objectives of the different activities of the project will be divided into areas of research methodology and of social policy research with each of them having specific targeted activities. Additionally, the project will set as an objective to develop the network of social policy research groups among the participating organisations and especially to create the cooperation network for the University of Tartu in the area of social policy research and analysis.

Activities undertaken will concentrate on recruitment of senior researchers from high-level research centres in EU as well as secondment of TU researchers to these universities.
