A new commercial integrated biocontrol product against soil-borne diseases and phytophagous nematodes based on Trichoderma

Objective

This ToK programme aims to exchange highly skilled experienced-researchers (ERs) and non-scientific staff (n.S.S.) between the Academy, which gained the Nematology know-how and the specific Trichoderma isolates against nematodes, and the Industry that already developed a bio-control preparation of Trichoderma against soilborne diseases and therefore gained much experience with technical issues of formulations, production, quality control, rapid diagnostics of fungal phytopathogens and marketing of such a product.

The multi-disciplinary aspect expressed in this strategic partnership between an Industry organization and an Academy institution, will lead to an integrated commercial bio-control agent (s) against soil-borne diseases caused by fungi and nematodes. Overall, this ToK Programme aims to provide advanced training to ERs and n.S.S. as well as exchange unique skills between the academic and industrial sectors, in the areas of biological control of soil-borne diseases and phytonematodes and construction of a commercial biocontrol agent.

Specifically, the objectives of this ToK Programme are:
I. To assimilate and incorporate know-how, technologies and infrastructure related to the nematology discipline by the Industry.
II. To assimilate and incorporate know-how, technologies and infrastructure of aspects related to the construction and commercialisation of a bio-agent by the Academy.
III. To develop the best conditions for growth and application of the most efficacious Trichoderma isolate against plant parasitic nematodes.
IV. To integrate the selected product against nematode with the commercial product against soilborne diseases.
V. To make necessary preparations towards commercialisation of the integrated product.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
