Objective
As ever-higher amounts of information are required by consumers, information displays play an increasingly important role in the information society. In particular, displays that support large amounts of text and that have the readability in a broad range of ambient lighting conditions are promising to be the solution to future needs in the handling of documentation. Furthermore, low power, sunlight readable displays promise unrestrained portability and readability in all light conditions.
NTERA Limited is a small-medium enterprise (SME) that has developed a leading position in the research, development and commercialisation of a low-power, reflective, electronic display technology (NCD technology) based on the use of nanomaterials in electrochemical devices. Specifically, the technology supports paper-like readability and low-power capability. To commercialise the technology in markets for high information content displays, sophisticated electronic solutions (Active Matrix) technology must be innovated.
The NANOMATRIX proposal will bring together a team of experienced European researchers to create and transfer vital knowledge to the innovation of electronic and materials systems to enable NTERA's innovation of High Resolution Displays which will form the platform for the next generation of NTERA's information products.
