Objective
The changes on the Technology and markets are getting faster and harder. To give a effective answer to these changes it is necessary both companies and Public Authorities to have a long term vision which go far from the regional and national scope.
The pursuit of the Lisboan objective "increase the European R&D investment to the 3%of the GDP in 2010", demands the regional and national integration of the R&D policies under the ERA framework. The Foresight is the tool that can offer this long-term vision in a systematic way and specifically the "Trans-Regional Foresight" can help to increase the integration of the R&D regional policies under the EU framework.
The ForTransRIS project has the following objectives:
- To develop the necessary methodology for carrying out the processes of Transregional Foresight in order to improve new Regional Innovation Strategies.
- To apply the Transregional Foresight Methodology for the improvement and best integration of the Regional Innovation Strategies in the European context.
- To establish a Transregional Innovation Cooperation Network among the participant regions.
- To obtain a wide diffusion and dissemination of the project's results, among the regional and national Innovation policy makers.
The proposed activities are:
- Transregional Benchmarking and design of the Transregional Foresight methodology, applied for the development of RIS.
- Development of a Transregional foresight process with the participation of 5 European regions, 5 regional expert panels and 1 transregional expert panel.
- Elaboration of a _Transregional Road Map for the Regions Network which guides the cooperation and common development of their Regional Innovation Strategies.
- Communication and dissemination of the activities and outputs of the project. Expected Results:
a) A Transregional Innovation Network (5 European regions).
b) A Transregional Road Map
