Objective
The strategic objective to be reached is the integration and strengthening of the ERA through Targeted Specific Support Action in this New Member State - The Republic of Slovenia, in the thematic area of Sustainable development, global change and ecosystems - Sustainable transport. The means to be used are networking of the research community, policy makers and industry at the national level, by creation and strengthening of contacts between the professional, educational, development, research and industrial institutions, organization of the information exchange and gathering of the critical mass necessary for active participation in shaping of the national policies, with view of necessary adherence and participation at implementation of the European Transport Policy, and for participation in the EU projects within the 7th FP; and at the European level through networking with similar institutions in the EU and ACC. TransSlov supports the "Triangle of Potocnik", the Slovenian Commissioner for Research. Commissioner Potocnik himself, being from Slovenia, will be invited to open the Conference and provide the keynote address in order to highlight the importance of the triangle. As Commissioner Potocnik said "For the EU to fully embrace the knowledge era, the knowledge for growth pact should aim at reinforcing the knowledge triangle (education, research and innovation) and make it productive via its integration with policies that bring about favourable and supportive framework conditions. It should involve the social partners at the EU level, and could easily be translated into national agreements between all concerned stakeholders". The objectives of this project should be reached by organisation of conference ISEP 2007 on topics of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) with participation of researchers from industry and research institutions in Slovenia, EU member states and the ACC.
