Inflation, dark energy and string theory

Final Activity Report Summary - IDEAST (Inflation, dark energy and string theory)

The project considers the experimental imprints of a certain theoretical problem that appears in realisation of cosmic inflation in string theory. The theoretical problem is that most models of inflation in string theory suffer from the overshoot problem. Namely, the inflation overshoots the region where it can inflate the universe. This is a fundamental problem in inflation. We saw that the most efficient solution to the problem have a cosmological imprint that can be looked for. Namely a giant spherically symmetric over dense regions with radius of about 110 Mpc.
