Objectif
In the current proposal, we take advantage of the latest knowledge in the field of chemical protein functionalization, and propose the use of "affinity labelling" techniques for a series of previously unexplored applications. These applications range from acquisition of new, necessary and uncovered biochemical data, to possible applications in industrial processes, such as polymer chemistry and material sciences.
These projects integrate well and expand the current activities of our team, centred on the design and construction of enzyme and cell microarrays, in conjunction with the use of affinity labels.
The main results that are expected from the project that is undertaken herein, are:
a) the functional identification of enzyme-activating proteins;
b) construction of hybrid, organised supra-molecular structures at the nanoscopic level;
c) synthesis of new type of polymers;
d) novel applications in supra-molecular catalysis.
