Studying Quantum Information on the Real Line

Objective

The project's topic is in the field of quantum information with continuous variables. More precisely, its objectives are to find new experiments proposals and to better understand past quantum communications experiences. Using the formalism of covariance matrices and symplectic transformations, the applicant will generalize some quantum communications protocols and characterize the set of protocols which can be achieved using coherent states. He will characterize Bell inequalities with continuous variable measurements, at least numerically, in order to propose an experimentally reasonable non-locality test using continuous variable measurements. By strengthening the applicant's skills allowing him to do research interesting to both experimentalists ant theoreticians, this project will allow him to engage in fruitali collaborations, in the long run and to perform independent research.
