COMMONDEMO@IBC2003

Objective

This support activity concerns the organisation of a joint exhibition of IST funded projects at the IBC2003. The objective is to organise, design, build and operate an exhibition space in which 6 projects can demonstrate their achievements in the domain of networked AV services and home platforms. Several projects in the D2 1ST cluster Interfaces and Enhanced Services and Signal Processing and Mixed Reality, especially the projects ICE-CREAM, SHARE-it, SPATION, MOSES, MUFFINS and FUTURE HOME are working on the future platforms for interactive audio visual services. These projects contribute to the further development and evaluation of open standards in the broadcast and Internet domain. Delivery platforms based on open standards for the production, delivery and consumption of multimedia content are core to these projects. They all address a part of the end-to-end delivery chain.

In addition, business models and evolving business roles are addressed for the different key actors of the end-to-end chain. These projects are planning to present their achievements on the IBC2003, which will be held at the AMSTERDAM RAI International Exhibition and Congress Centre, the Netherlands, from 11-16 September 2003. The IBC exhibition is one of the world's premier broadcast media events. The exhibition is expected to feature over 1000 companies, covering extensive state of the art technologies. The IBC is the leading event for the creation, management and delivery of content for the entertainment industry. It is the premier forum to show the newest developments in interactive television and convergent content development.
