The European footwear industry lacks today competitiveness to bring its manufacturing position in the EU in balance with
its fashion influence around the world. Europe as a manufacturing cluster looses attractiveness. The industry keeps a world
influence but this kind of industry needs an IP to support a breakthrough strategy for its future. SMES are the main actors
of the European Shoe Industry and need to participate under different mechanisms to undertake the results of IPs and to
provide feedback to NoE, orienting long-term research towards specific needs.
The project measurable objectives are:
Number of Technology audits: 100
SMEs incorporated to IPs: 100
Number of Take-up actions implemented: 10
Financial resources mobilised: 25M euros
Number of European Research project submitted:
o CRAFT and Collective: 10
o STREP: 5
o SME incorporated: 75
o Financial resources #
