Objective
Cette proposition concerne la PATINE DES GRÈS SAHARIENS porteurs de gravures ou d'oeuvres peintes, réalisées au cours des quinze derniers millénaires, c'est-à-dire, depuis la fin de la dernière glaciation. Son objectif est de re-créer la patine des zones détériorées et d'analyser la signification des sujets représentés par rapport aux changements climatiques.
On doit:
-actualiser les connaissances sur les micro-mécanismes physiques et chimiques responsables de la formation de la PATINE d'un grès. Le but e st RE-CRÉER ou RESTAURER celle-ci en cas de dégradations naturelles ou d'origine humaine (WP1,WP3).
-Evaluer l'apport des " images " représentées sur ces grès, ainsi que des données archéologiques, géomorphologiques ou paléoclimatiques associées, à la compréhension des PROCESSUS D'ADAPTATION DES SOCIÉ-TÉS ANCIENNES AUX CHANGEMENTS CLIMATIQUES (WP2).
-Valoriser ce patrimoine et les recherches entreprises par la vulgarisation, et la préparation d'un brevet pour le procédé mis au point ainsi que par la réalisation de deux films, destinés à SENSIBILISER ET EDUQUER LE PUBLIC à la PRESERVATION DES OEUVRES et de leur PATINE PRO-TECTRICE(WP4).
Ces oeuvres gravées ou peintes sont non seulement des composantes majeures de la liste du patri-moine de l'humanité (UNE SCO), mais également pour les pays sahariens du sud de la Méditerranée (Algérie, Maroc), des facteurs déterminants de leur développement économique et social, par le potentiel qu'elles représentent sur le plan du tourisme culturel "durable".
Pour atteindre ce double objectif, 10 équipes de 7 pays (Algérie, Allemagne, Egypte, France, Finlande, Italie et Maroc) se sont regroupées au sein d'un consortium afin de réaliser un programme multidisciplinaire fon-dé sur la complémentarité de leurs compétences (physique des archéomatériaux, préhistoire, art rupestre, paléoclimato-logie, protection du patrimoine, biominéralisation).
Le programme prévoit un budget total pour 3 années de 895 000 euros.
