Objective
The overall aim of the package is to enhance the process of development of research activities of the EPIMOLCentre in advanced molecular biology and epidemiology of occupational and environmental cancer. To achievethis aim, a two-tier transfer of knowled ge will be implemented within the ToK Marie Curie action. The first tierwill include a series of visits of experienced researchers to the EPIMOL Centre, while the second one willconsist in the training of EPIMOL researchers at partner institutions. The spe cific objectives of the transfer ofknowledge will be to develop competence and practical skills in the following areas:1. Application of novel exposure biomarkers and bio-indicators to cancer risk assessment2. Assessment of DNA damage and repair mechanism in carcinogenesis3. Application of cytogenetic methods for detecting changes at chromosomal level4. Analysis of genetic polymorphism and expression patterns of metabolising enzymes as applied toenvironmental carcinogenesis5. Performance of epidemiological studies and data analysisEach of them will be achieved through implementation of a respective training program (TP).The following partner institutions will be provide training opportunities to EPIMOL researchers: Institute ofBiological Research and Biotech nology, The National Hellenic Research Foundation, Athens, Greece;Laboratory for Toxicology, Pathology and Genetics, National Institute of Public Health and the Environment,Bilthoven, The Netherlands; Department of Agrobiology and Agrochemistry, University of Tuscia, Viterbo,Italy; Institute of Toxicology, University of Mainz, Germany; Environmental and Occupational Health Institutefor Risk Assessment, Utrecht, The Netherlands; and Division of Occupational Epidemiology, National CancerInstitute, Bethesda, U S.As a result of undertaking the numerous measures envisaged to transfer the knowledge, the EPIMOL Centre willgain a core of highly qualified research

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
