Advanced research into galaxy clusters observed in the X-ray

Objective

The research program we propose is related to the study of cluster of galaxies and the large-scale structure of the universe using observations obtained with a number of space missions. The project consists of an extensive core program devoted to make the most of the large quantity of data obtained with the most advanced X-Ray observatories available to date: Chandra and XMM-Newton. In addition we propose complementary research activities devoted to the development of future space missions, like the ESA mission Planck, in which the Italian research community is involved the most.
