Directory of public sector information

Objective

The purpose of the PSI-IPR Directory was to provide information about the availability of public sector information across Europe, which included where this data could be found, its format, the IPR and contact information. The function of the directory was to provide a business service enabling the commercial exploitation of PSI across Europe.

The PSI-IPR Directory worked closely with EPSINet in order to source the data and accompanying information and to use relevant standards for the exchange of data. In particular, the directory addressed the need for information about what public sector information actually exists across Europe by identifying the institutions that hold the data and format and type of data available.
