Objective
The overall objective of the work in the Boost MT proposal is to stimulate, encourage, and facilitate the participation of Maltese Organisations, including SMEs, in all the domains and instruments of the 6th EU Framework Programme (FP6), with particular attention to the participation of Maltese organizations in the new instruments - Integrated Projects and Networks of Excellence. Thus, the Boost MT proposal will significantly contribute to achieving a strong involvement of Maltese entities, thus fostering European integration and the long-term objectives of the European Research Area (ERA). Participation in FP6 is not only relevant to Private organisations, but also to Public bodies and Research institutions. With its approach, the oosf MT proposal will ensure adequate activities in favour of substantial involvement from all the sectors in the Maltese Economic and Social environments, thus contributing to the strong and actual integration of Malta into an enlarged and unified Europe.
Three major lines of activities will achieve the overall objective:
1. Stimulating national stakeholders to participate in FP6, whilst at the same time increase European awareness on Malta's research capabilities.;
2. Encourage Maltese organizations in actively taking part in FP6;
3. Facilitate the participation of Maltese organization by providing support to the local NCPs and professional associations.
The co-coordinator of the Boost MT proposal is the prime mover of science, technology and innovation in Malta. It has very strong and well-established working relationships with all the organizations representing all the different sectors. This will help in the formation of a unique national consortium involving the major players in support of Maltese and European Research.
