Operation and consolidation of activities of the Innovation Relay Centre help-forward in Greece

Objective

IRC HELP-FORWARD proposes an intense work-plan, which, together with its IRCnet partners, consolidates a unique network of transnational TT service providers to SMEs and NTBFs, satisfying key EC policies. Based on experience and knowledge built during the last 8 years, IRC HF sets even higher targets, planning to conclude 30 TTT agreements with high economic and social impact and contribute to the creation of 6 start-up NTBFs through transnational innovation financing. A portfolio of 360 negotiated projects , organisation of 8 and participation in 40 TT events, 700 visits to firms and labs, 40 awareness and training seminars to clients, 18 incoming and outgoing company missions are some of the expected actions and results to be delivered. IRC HF is a network player. To achieve its targets, it will fully utilise (and contribute to) the knowledge, mechanisms, tools and methodologies of the IRCnet. It will take advantage of its favourable placement in the Greek innovation and TT market to serve in a balanced and cost effective manner all regions of the country, with emphasis on the disadvantaged. IRC HF is committed to develop further its business strategy and the marketing of its services to enhance corporate professionalism and set the foundations for its sustai nability. By transferring some of the costs of TT brokerage to the clients, HF intends by the end of the period to increase its income from services to a level equal to 20% of its budget. The long-established strategic alliance of the 3 prestigious partner s (the Federation of Greek Industries, the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece and the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas), effective management structure with one distinct entity in charge of all work, pioneering charging policy already introduced, solid operational unit track record to date, and the peer recognition shown by the IRC network award of Best IRC for 2002, offer a strong guarantee that the ambitious objectives will be met.
