Objective
As many European regions, Flanders fails to convert its research efforts into commercially exploitable technology. IRC Flanders combines local and European networking to create opportunities for Flemish companies. IRC Flanders' objective is to provide cos t-effective and high quality transnational technology transfer (TT) services which answer to regional needs and which are provided in synergy with the regional support structures in Flanders. The main target for this contract is to increase the added value of the IRC in the process of transnational TT partner search in Flanders. The overall expected results are a gradual increase of TT activity in Flanders and more satisfied clients. To increase its reach, IRC Flanders will intensify co-operation with the l ocal innovation actors in the field. IRC Flanders will offer its transnational TT services to the Flemish innovation network, which groups all local innovation actors. The local actors are close to the companies, especially SMEs, and cover the entire Flem ish region. They are in a good position to determine local opportunities and requests. IRC Flanders will use its contacts in the IRC network to assist their clients for transnational TT. Via its co-operation with the actors in the Flemish innovation networ k, IRC Flanders has the opportunity to offer additional innovation services to its own clients. In addition to the local actors' awareness activities, IRC Flanders will specifically target companies involved in research activities. In terms of assisting clients, IRC Flanders will continue the activities developed over the past years. Continuous improvement of these services and better communication will increase customer satisfaction. The co-operation with the local actors will increase the number of cl ients. In support of this strategy, IRC Flanders remains an active member of the IRC network, co-operating with the other members to continuously increase the quality of the network.
