Objective
EUROPEAN IST is a Specific Support Action addressing to the following strategic objectives:
1. enhancing participation of research organizations from former and actual Associated Candidate Countries (ACC) into the 6th Framework Programme (FP6) and IST thematic priority;
2. networking the IST research community across Europe to maximize the number of proposal submitted within FP6;
3. integrating the "info part" (IST NCP) and the "end-users" (R&D sector) through IST tools into the European Research Area, as a unique, challenging space of the most advanced technologies and businesses.
The proposed activities will actively promote the research competencies on IST in ACC; train research representative from ACC on issues related to FP6; allow to promote FP6 and IST to research community, support researchers in proposals elaboration, establish partnerships between organizations from Member States and ACC. EUROPEAN IST mobilises the skills and competencies of 11 (eleven) relevant organisations from 8 European Countries, of which 3 are Member States (France, Spain and Greece), 3 are New Members States (Hungary, Cyprus, Poland) and 2 are Associated Candidates Countries (Romania, Bulgaria).
