Final Report Summary - B_BICE (Brazilian Bureau for Enhancing the International Cooperation with Europe)
After the approval of the New Brazilian Bureau by the European Commission in November 2007, for the period of three years (beginning in October 2008), the project has expanded its operation significantly. BB.BICE's activities include maintenance of a webpage (please see http://bbice.ibict.br(se abrirá en una nueva ventana) and http://www.bbice.unb.br(se abrirá en una nueva ventana) online), distribution of a monthly electronic newsletter in both Portuguese and English, as well as the development of new instruments created to disseminate information (including in Europe) about the Brazilian competencies in Research and technological development (RTD).
The BB.BICE project was managed by the Centre to Support the Technological Development of the University of Brasilia (CDT / UnB) and it was coordinated and developed by the Centre for Advanced Studies on Government and Public Administration (CEAG / UnB), in partnership with the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT), a research institute linked to the Ministry of Science and Technology (MCT). To maintain the project's activities in compliance with the rules and proceedings, a steering group was formed to follow BB.BICE's work, contributing to achieving all of its objectives.
B.BICE helped the Brazilian scientific and technological institutions, and the technological based enterprises in the preparation and negotiation process of project proposals to be submitted to the EC. Another additional function of B.BICE was to keep a permanent contact and flow of information with the other three Latin American countries with bilateral cooperation agreement in ST&I with the European Union (EU), Argentina, Chile, and Mexico in order to look for a coordination and integration of the four countries when preparing and presenting project proposals in response to calls.
