Objective
The strategic objectives of the Forum for European - Australian Science and Technology Co-operation are to: - highlight existing S&T co-operation between Europe and Australia; and - improve this co-operation by identifying priorities and enhancing the quality, quantity, and visibility of future action. Specific objectives are: - to increase the links between European and Australian scientists; - to better identify and demonstrate co-operation; - to improve the process of providing information on program mes promoting co-operation between Australia Europe; - to exchange best practices; - to provide opportunities for presenting state of the art S&T, and improve the prospects for co-operation in these fields. A series of work packages will ensure effecti ve delivery of these objectives. They will create: 1. A website portal to European - Australian S&T collaboration, the FEAST network, databases, and activities; 2. An online database of researchers and research projects involved in collaborative EU - A ustralian research; 3. Helpdesk services to Australian and EU researchers seeking enhanced research collaboration opportunities; 4. Networks of researchers involved in and interested in collaboration, and forums to share information and experiences; 5. Doc umentation and promotion of existing collaboration, and opportunities for new collaboration; 6. Bilateral research networks to promote collaboration; 7. An Industry - Science network; 8. Thematic networks and expert groups in areas of mutual priority; 9. O rganisation of a bienniel high profile Policy Dialogue Conference; A further work package will manage and coordinate the tasks. FEAST will be managed by a small secretariat assisted by an Executive Board and a Joint Advisory Group representing key stakehol ders. The FEAST Secretariat will be located in and hosted by the National Europe Centre of the Australian National University, in Canberra.
