Objective
Strategic objectives addressed: To structure an information system for sharing information and solutions on environmental and safety issues related to food among agricultural SMEs at European scale. To valorise the traceability as an integration solution of international interest. To identify new research projects. To increase the farmers managing capacity. To consolidate and to enlarge the INFOOD network in Europe. Proposal abstract: The agriculture is coming in a complex period because of the new Common Agricultural Policy. Traditional cultures will not yet be sustained and the incomes perspectives for farmers are reduced. The innovation in agriculture is strategic and facilitation instruments are necessary for reaching new opportunities. This SSA facilitates the participation of Small and Medium farms (SMFarms) in EU research and increases their cooperation and innovation with regards to technologies and methods for improving the management of environmental, safety and traceability aspects related to food. An information system makes easier the exchange of solutions between farms. By bringing together their experience and by jointly tackling new issues, the SMFarms develop a higher level of know- how, increase their competitiveness and credibility. The 2-year project is composed by 8 WPs. The WP1 is focused on the studying of technologies and methods adopted in EU Farms for environmental, safety and traceability aspects related to food. The WPs 2,3,4 concern the building of an information system consisting of a Data Base together with a Web Site and a Methodological Guide. The WPS will consolidate experience and lead to the organisation of an International Workshop creating basis for new bottom-up activities. The WP6 is addressed to the network-enlargement and to the implementation of the information system. The WP7 is dedicated to the exploitation and dissemination of the results. The 8th WP concerns the Partnership and the Public...
