Objective
The I3 Forum is a forum open to all of the Integrated Infrastructure Initiatives (I3), and Infrastructure related Coordination Actions (CA) funded by the Research Infrastructures action of the 6th Framework Programme. Between them these I3 and CA represent most of the large research infrastructures in the European Research Area, with an enormous combined research capability and capacity which is of considerable importance for Europe's future prosperity.
The I3 FORUM has four main objectives:
* To exchange good practice in the management and organization of I3, both ongoing through FP6 and providing feedback to the Commission relating to FP7.
* To exchange information and expertise in areas of common interest, e.g. approaches to Science and Society activities. To act as a central information service regarding the role and importance of major research infrastructures in general and to develop common approaches/solutions to common problems.
* To explore possible synergies between I3, including the possibility of joint activities (e.g. JRA).
* To act as a central contact point for information concerning the development of a European infrastructures roadmap, through specific links to ESFRI and ESFRI working groups.
