Interactive Self-Explaining Engine

Objective

The objective of the I-SEE project is to develop the foundations for a self-explanatory system capable of generating explanations tailored for specific users and tasks. The project will implement explanation facilities for:

- explaining the system's behaviour to the user
- cooperating in answering messages to the operator (either on request or in the case of erroneous actions).

The approach will be to develop a toolset with tools for:

- task and user modelling
- system modelling and explanation generation
- cooperative answer generation

I-SEE will also produce demonstrators for sewage and pollution control

The toolset will be commercialised by Syseca. The techniques and tools will be directly usable by all the partners in the development of their own IT systems, and it is planned to turn the two demonstrators into marketable products.
