Project description Photonics Show the project objective Hide the project objective The HILED project will advance the state of the art of Solid State Lighting (SSL) through research on innovative light engines that take advantage of full control of light. The incorporated intelligence enables responsive fine tuning of spectral properties in real time, as well as precise dimming capabilities. These smart engines with added intelligence offer natural illumination patterns that respect our biological circadian rhythms. This can be done very accurately by spectral selection or even through Correlated Colour Temperature (CCT) adaptation by using the most efficient combination of white LEDs, coloured LEDs, and OLEDs as building blocks of the light source, while satisfying different constraints on energy efficiency. Markets such as horticulture and greenhouses would also benefit from fully controllable light engines, whose spectral content can be dynamically adapted to the plant needs in real time, through the establishment of algorithmic strategies and feed-back systems that control the growth process. Besides the spectral effects on leaf photosynthesis there are more important spectral effects on morphology and development of plants. Morphological effects directly influence the ornamental value of cut flowers and pot plants and therefore their economic value. Furthermore, these morphological effects may strongly influence the growth rate of the plants. Last but not least the choice for light spectrum may affect the production of secondary metabolites. These metabolites can have human health promoting effects (e.g. anti-oxidants, vitamins, etc).Additionally, these light engines are particularly well suited for museum lighting, where careful selection of spectral content may achieve an optimal balance between energy efficiency, quality of light and art conservation. The project aims overall to foster lighting systems, which can communicate through intelligent protocols and interact with humans in real time, while proving cost-effective solutions Fields of science engineering and technologymaterials engineeringcolorsagricultural sciencesagriculture, forestry, and fisheriesagriculturehorticulturenatural sciencesbiological sciencesbotany Programme(s) FP7-ICT - Specific Programme "Cooperation": Information and communication technologies Topic(s) ICT-2013.3.2 - Photonics Call for proposal FP7-ICT-2013-11 See other projects for this call Funding Scheme CP - Collaborative project (generic) Coordinator FUNDACIO INSTITUT DE RECERCA DE L'ENERGIA DE CATALUNYA Address C/ jardins de les dones de negre 1 08930 Sant adria de besos Spain See on map Region Este Cataluña Barcelona Activity type Research Organisations Administrative Contact Josep Carreras (Dr.) Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Website Opens in new window EU contribution No data Participants (8) Sort alphabetically Sort by EU Contribution Expand all Collapse all ARCH TECHNOLOGY SPRL Participation ended Belgium EU contribution € 30 430,00 Address Rue de maredsous 13 5640 Saint gerard See on map Activity type Private for-profit entities (excluding Higher or Secondary Education Establishments) Administrative Contact Sebastién Clément (Mr.) Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Other funding No data FRAUNHOFER GESELLSCHAFT ZUR FORDERUNG DER ANGEWANDTEN FORSCHUNG EV Germany EU contribution € 479 775,00 Address Hansastrasse 27c 80686 Munchen See on map Region Bayern Oberbayern München, Kreisfreie Stadt Activity type Research Organisations Administrative Contact Christoph Schulte (Mr.) Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Website Opens in new window Other funding No data INSTITUT DE RECERCA I TECNOLOGIA AGROALIMENTARIES Spain EU contribution € 256 946,00 Address Ctra c-59 km 12 torre marimon 08140 Caldes de montbui barcelona See on map Region Este Cataluña Barcelona Activity type Other Administrative Contact Cristina Gonzalez (Ms.) Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Website Opens in new window Other funding No data LIGHT PRESCRIPTIONS INNOVATORS EUROPE SL Spain EU contribution € 395 960,00 Address Campus de montegancedo upm - edif cedint s/n 28223 Pozuelo de alarcon - madrid See on map Region Comunidad de Madrid Comunidad de Madrid Madrid Activity type Private for-profit entities (excluding Higher or Secondary Education Establishments) Administrative Contact Rubén Mohedano (Dr.) Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Website Opens in new window Other funding No data PANNON EGYETEM - UNIVERSITY OF PANNONIA Hungary EU contribution € 339 902,00 Address Egyetem u 10 8200 Veszprem See on map Region Dunántúl Közép-Dunántúl Veszprém Activity type Higher or Secondary Education Establishments Administrative Contact Ferenc Szabó (Dr.) Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Website Opens in new window Other funding No data HORTILUX SCHREDER BV Netherlands EU contribution € 148 640,00 Address Vlotlaan 412 2681 TV Monster See on map Activity type Private for-profit entities (excluding Higher or Secondary Education Establishments) Administrative Contact Peter Van den Dool (Mr.) Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Other funding No data STICHTING WAGENINGEN RESEARCH Netherlands EU contribution € 440 879,00 Address Droevendaalsesteeg 4 6708 PB Wageningen See on map Region Oost-Nederland Gelderland Veluwe Activity type Research Organisations Administrative Contact Carola van Pluuren (Mrs.) Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Website Opens in new window Other funding No data UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE United Kingdom EU contribution € 405 591,00 Address Kings gate NE1 7RU Newcastle upon tyne See on map Region North East (England) Northumberland and Tyne and Wear Tyneside Activity type Higher or Secondary Education Establishments Administrative Contact Arun Sharma (Mr.) Links Contact the organisation Opens in new window Website Opens in new window Other funding No data
