Future Internet Challenge eHealth

Project description

Expansion of Use Cases

The FICHe project aims to challenge European SMEs and web entrepreneurs to develop successful applications and businesses using the available Future Internet technology in the eHealth market. At the end of the project, the results include twenty (20) tested prototypes and go-to-market strategies and business plans, among numerous other ideas and concepts of applications.
The FICHe project will enroll a three-phase challenge for SMEs and web entrepreneurs to develop innovative applications.
The Challenge will be promoted in at least 15 EU countries and will include information about the FI-technologies, use cases and users needs, the challenge and the pitch event.
During the pitch event that will be hosted in Brussels and online, the technologies, use cases and user needs will be 'pitched' to the audience. Goal is to stimulate innovative ideas of applications using the available technologies. The three-phase challenge will be opened during the event and they are invited to submit an idea to enter the challenge.
From the targeted 200 idea entries, an independent review committee will select up to 80 ideas that will enter the first phase of the challenge. These selected entries will receive funding and support from the consortium, including the field labs, to develop a sound business plan that describes their idea, market feasibility and business model.
From these 80 business plans, the review committee will select up to 40 challengers that will enter phase 2. These 40 will receive additional funding and support from the consortium, including the field labs, to create a working concept of the application.
For the last phase (3), the consortium will select up to 20 out of the 40 concepts. These 20 will receive additional funding and support from the consortium, including the field labs, to create and test a working prototype in one of the three field labs and deliver a go-to-market strategy.
