Connecting Earth Observation Networks in Europe Book

"A open book (with ISBN; both on paper and in PDF) with the provisional title of ""Connecting Earth Observation Networks in Europe"" that will collect the results of the results in collecting the current networks, that gap analysis the priorities and the recommendations for fixing those. It will also cover the formation and sustainability of a permanent integrated network of EO networks. This book has to be done in the context of GEO and presented as a EU contribution to GEO. We will look for a formula to promote the book in a GEO Plenary."

Feedback system description and results report

Report on the description and results of the publicly sign-on accessible feedback system, based on a catalogue integrating the observation inventory.

Revision and description of the results of the Data Management Plan (DMP) and participation in the Pilot on Open Research Data in Horizon 2020. as requested in http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/data/ref/h2020/grants_manual/hi/oa_pilot/h2020-hi-oa-data-mgt_en.pdf. The review will be conducted in collaboration with WP1 and WP5.

EVs current status in different communities and way to move forward

Report on the Essential Variables current status in the scientific community and the strategy to push them forward. This report will collect the results of an internal project meeting about the current status of the EVs and determine how to make progress.

Plan for disseminating and communication of the project’s results

The Dissemination and Communication Plan will set out the details of the different types of dissemination activities to be undertaken during the project lifetime. In addition to the dissemination approach that will be applied, this deliverable also provides the necessary guidance for an efficient dissemination strategy. The Plan identifies communicating objectives and goals, the target audience, the message, medium and means and the timeline for communicating actions. D7.1 is a way to reinforce this activity in GEOSS ( http://www.geo-tasks.org/geoss_portfolio) by trying to stimulate the ENEON to participate in it.

Observation inventory database description and results report

The revised version of the 4.2 report, also including a revision of the database schema if needed

ConnectinGEO methodology

Report describing the ConnectinGEO methodology to be developed and tested during the project and to be promoted beyond the end of the project. It is important to differentiate this deliverable and “D3.2 ENEON methodology for management and coordination and first plenary Workshop minutes” that deals with the methodology for management of the ENEON but do not covers the methodology to extract the ENEON knowhow used in the Gap analysis that is covered in this one.

Strategic view for the sustainability of ENEON after the end of the project

Report on the strategic view for the sustainability of ENEON after the end of the project, including the activities undertaken during the project.

Gap analysis final report including prioritization

Gap analysis final report to focus EO networks on the provision of timely observations based on the Discovery and Access Broker (DAB) and GEOSS Common Infrastructure (GCI) content, including prioritization of these gaps. It will also include a report on the Plenary reviewing Workshop on M22 (WS7).

Report on observations, measurements and gaps in observation systems reported by the communities

Report on the list of observations, measurements, gaps, sensors, procedures, and practices used currently or expected in the future in observation systems reported by the communities. It will also includes the Citizen science workshop report (WS4). It will be a kind of a row list of classified feedback. D6.2 will be more elaborated material based on D3.4 and the other methodologies of the project.

Gap analysis draft report

Gap analysis draft report to focus EO networks on the provision of timely observations based on the Discovery and Access Broker (DAB) and GEOSS Common Infrastructure (GCI) content. It will aslo include a report on the Co-located Gap Analysis Workshop on M16 (WS6).

Mid term revision of the data management plan

The Data Management Plan (DMP) will be reviewed as requested in http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/data/ref/h2020/grants_manual/hi/oa_pilot/h2020-hi-oa-data-mgt_en.pdf. The review will be conducted in collaboration with WP1 and WP5. The deliverable will include the outcome of task 3.3.

Proposal of EVs for selected themes

Report on the first proposal of EVs for selected themes. It will include description and justification of inclusion. It will collect drafts of SBA-specific EVs for Carbon (CMCC), Health and Pollution (CNR-IIA), Ecosystems (CNR-ISAC), Biodiversity (CNR- ISSIA), Energy (ARMINES), Disasters (TIWAH) and Oceans (CSIC). It will also include a report on the Co-located Essential Variables Workshop on M7.

Data Management Plan (DMP)

Report on the Data Management Plan (DMP) elaboration and execution, in which will be specified what data will be open in ConnectinGEO as the project is participating in the Open Research Data Pilot. The document will outline how research data will be handled during a research project, and after it is completed and will follow the template in Annex 1 for the EC DMP guidelines document http://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/data/ref/h2020/grants_manual/hi/oa_pilot/h2020-hi-oa-data-mgt_en.pdf. It will be done in collaboration with WP1 and WP5

Cooperation with other relevant project and initiatives report

Report describing the activities of cooperation with other relevant project and initiatives undertaken during ConnectinGEO with particular attention to the ERA-NET GEO.

ENEON methodology for management and coordination and first plenary Workshop minutes

The report on the ENEON plenary Workshop (WS2) will gather the minutes and all the information regarding the plenary. The workshops will also be used to build a collection of frameworks and best practices across domains and stakeholders that will be collected in this deliverable. The deliverable also describes the new aspect about ENEON methodology for management and coordination. It is important to differentiate this deliverable from “D6.1 ConnectinGEO methodology” that deals with the gap analysis and priorities that uses the ENEON knowhow as input.

Scientific publication compendium

Report describing the scientific publication achieved during the project.

Observation inventory

Contains the Observation inventory database based on GCI Information, DAB, and Copernicus services catalogues that will allow to assess the coherency, continuity, accuracy and accessibility of the information available. It will provide an assessment of the availability and accessibility of data required to derive the information (e.g. EV) or to run the models that generate the forecasts and projections, and it will support a prioritization of the gaps that need to be addressed.

Project Advisory Board composition and communication channels

Report on the Project Advisory Board (PAB) composition and the communication channels between the PAB and the ConnectinGEO consortium and signed MoUs

Observation networks tutorials and portfolio of best practices

Report on the collection of best practices and tools for observation networks and data exchange.

Media presence compendium

Report describing the media presence achieved during the project.
