Periodic Reporting for period 1 - Colibri (The compact LIBS module for advanced materials analysis)
Período documentado: 2015-01-01 hasta 2015-06-30
The overall goal of the project is to develop and to market miniature modular spectrometer modules (Colibri) for use in waste or scrap management, and in food safety control. The Colibri module is the carrier for a novel architecture and manufacturing platform enabling compact, cost-effective, user friendly, robust and reconfigurable spectrometers. It is based on a novel and proprietary modular-assembly approach combining the key-competences of Anteryon and the newest advancements in CMOS detector technologies.
In this way, the increased use of LIBS will also contribute to the social themes and to the efficiency in executing European programs in the field of waste management, environmental protection, ecological footprint reduction, food safety control and health care.
The proposal relates to the call NMP 25 – 2014 “Accelerating the uptake of nanotechnologies, advanced materials or advanced manufacturing and processing technologies by SMEs”.
• Technical Viability (Chapter 2): design studies and calculations confirm a breakthrough in size, modularity and cost of the Colibri sensor module compared to today’s technology.
• Economic Viability (Chapter 3): competitor analysis, value assessment and market analyses confirm that we can follow a “blue ocean” marketing and sales approach and that this strategy will open new large markets in materials analysis.
• Operational Viability (Chapter 4): Anteryon has the right spirit, infra-structure and proven track-record to successfully commercialise the Colibri module.
• Conclusion for this Action (Chapter 5): it is viable to proceed with Phase-2 to further develop the Colibri module from TRL level 6 to TRL level 9.
The next step is that Anteryon will submit the detailed project plan and Business Plan for Phase-2.
