Intelligent sunlight system for energy efficient indoor lighting

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - SUNIGENT (Intelligent sunlight system for energy efficient indoor lighting)

Reporting period: 2015-03-01 to 2015-06-30

For an innovative and unique product such as Parans, where there are no easy way to explain the benefits and experiencing it is basically the only waym, the knowledge about the existence of the technology and clear as well as informative demo installations and real cases are crucial. Since daylight through fiber optics has the potential to fundamentally change the way you think about architecture, daylight and the way to experience the dynamics of daylight also where not enough daylight are present through traditional solutions. By performing extensive surveys, interview stakeholders and map the European as well as the global market Parans should lay out the way to strategically reach out to actors at the key markets. By doing that we will raise the awareness of the existence as well as the potential of our technology and also facilitate live experience of relevant installations. For an innovative and unique product such as Parans, where there are no easy way to explain the benefits and experiencing it is basically the only waym, the knowledge about the existence of the technology and clear as well as informative demo installations and real cases are crucial. The work was performed in two main approaches. One was to meet with and interview stakeholders representing all relevant roles involved in a construction development or retrofitting process from many areas of the world. Close to 300 relevant firms and actors were contacted and many meet with. A “best way forward” was developed and a clear strategy on how to create marketing material satisfying the individual actors/stakeholders need for specific information at different levels as the building project progresses.

The other way was to strategically map the global market for Parans products incorporating anything from global construction trends and market sizes to progressivity regarding sustainable building and market “readiness”.
After phase two Parans will launch the new intelligent sunlight system on a wide range of markets. With most of the knowledge and key competences in-hous Parans will grow to 15-20+ employees rather quick and be able to perform and act on several markets at one time. By having demo sites to refer to on the key markets as well as established and well renowned ambassadors and partners there will be a running start. Parans estimates an annual growth of about 50% the first years due to the increased knowledge about the technology and it's potential leading to a €2 000 000+ turnover just two or three years after the launch.

By spreading the use of fiber optic daylight solutions like Parans technology, large energy savings will be achieved and occupants will be more productive, make less mistakes, get better school results and get faster rehab at hospitals. All due to the positive effect of daylight!
